Myopia (or nearsightedness) is a common visual condition characterized by the ability to clearly see nearby objects while objects further away are blurry. This occurs when the shape of the eye causes rays of light to bend improperly causing the image to focus in front of the retina instead of on it. Myopia control refers to treatments that slow the progression of nearsightedness, reducing the likelihood of constantly updating prescriptions for glasses and reducing the risk of serious eye disease.
